Relegation Fight - 2021/22 | Norwich, Watford & Burnley relegated

Newcastle will be fine the one in trouble is Leeds. If one of the current bottom 3 can find some decent form they can drag Leeds right into it. Norwich currently look the most likely but the other 2 have a better squad.

Hope burnley go down just for the fact they were part of hateful 8(or 9) who signed the petition to get us banned. Why would burnley have any interest in our club anyway? We’re we a threat to them? Wankers

Hard to see Burnley surviving. They have 8 of their remaining 15 fixtures at home but have still to travel to Norwich (game 9) and Watford (game 12), so they’re reliant on picking up points in the coming weeks with the hope that they can then close that gap. Going to be terribly difficult.

It looks like Newcastle will escape the drop now and then look to rebuild and challenge further up the table next season. I for one welcome it and relish in the fact a lot of clubs will be looking over their shoulders, particularly when they make a move for top 6/4 (obviously after a few seasons of improvements).

I don’t imagine it will take them nearly as long to make the top four. Unlike before, the established clubs are arguably less established, so it might not prove so difficult for them to break into that group.

Interesting thoughts, they will have FFP impeding them to some degree. The biggest factor is the infrastructure and manager they get in, but yes the challenge from the establishment is very significant. However that is itself an unknown factor due to ever changing cyclic nature of football.

Could be a huge win for them today, IF they hold on.

Indeed. Would be a reversal of the result on opening day when Brighton won 1 v 2 at Turf Moor.

Much prefer to see everyone still in it for as long as possible than see teams cut adrift in February.
