remaining fixtures,

birmingham and vila need to be given more respect.....those two are very hard games...even at home

I agree and I am full of respect.
But I expect more probable and risky some lack of concentration with lower side away, than the actual threatening challanges from biggest sides while in the warm embrace of CoMS.

I don't think 30 points gets City to fourth. I think they'll need 35. And I also think it is achievable but not easy. I have projected Liverpool to 73, City to 73, Spurs to 71 and Villa to 70. Call me insane but that's how I see it breaking down. Everyone is on Liverpool but they have been playing better. And the schedule looks most kind to them of the chasing teams at this point in time to me. City have 2 games in hand on Liverpool and Spurs and one on Villa. The Liverpool game at home is huge for City. You have to go back a few years for 68 points to be good enough for fourth.

Villa 37 +30 = 70
Spurs 41 +30 = 71
Pool 41 +32 = 73
City 38 +35 = 73

I think we need these results in the remaining games, that would give us another 40 or 41 points, giving us 78 -79 points, would this be enough for 4th place or even higher, so thats a possible 2 defeats and 1 draw out of the next 16 games
do you agree with the forcast.

I reckon your a little too optimistic. The next 4 games are going to be really important, if we get 4 wins we are straight in the top 4 and put pressure on spurs and liverpool to get a result against us at home.

Come on city, we need to win these games against the "smaller" teams even more than the games vs pool, villa and spurs! Look at Liverpool last year, beat Utd and Chelsea twice yet fucked it up against the likes of West Ham, Stoke and Bolton.

A bit daft predicting our scores and then assuming where we'll finish. What about the other 5 or 6 clubs we're competing against for the top 4 and their potential results?

Which is something I have done!! And I honestly think 70 points will do it for 4th. The predictions I have seen in this thread so far are far too optimistic. Looking ahead its easy to predict games like Fulham A, Villa H, Sunderland A and even the likes of Bolton A, Burnley A etc (for other teams) as 3 pts or even 1 point. We know only too well that these games can be hard work.

Main thing is we need to win the home games vs Spurs, Liverpool & Villa.

There is a guy on a RAWK thread who produces really good forecasts for points to be gained, he is a bit of an anorak but seems to be accurate, he has worked out that 70 point this year should be good enough for fourth place unfortunately he predicts that us , loserpoo villa and spuds will achieve that so it might go to goal difference. There will always be a rogue result (portsmouth/loserpoo comes to mind) hope we had ours with draws to Burnley, Hull and Foolham. I think it ours to lose with spuds/villa/pool tocome to us.

Man U are shite

Don't delete this topic: we're are gonna assess on may 9th.
I stand for my original not less than 74 and 3rd.

Fourth place should take no more than 70, assuming that only Chelsea and Arsenal will have a steady run.
Liverpool, spurs, villa and rags are going to waste points.
Indeed winning key games at home will be pivotal.
