Nothing ever came of it but I say we should try to sign him over Boateng (who don't get me wrong I'd also be very happy with)

similar in that he can play any defensive position, but more experienced, has experience of being a captain (can never have too many leaders) and also gets a decent amount of goals...

Höwedes is already as good as Westermann and still young. hes a very good choice.

I wouldn't mind Westermann, very versatile player who can basically play in central midfield and anywhere in the defence, and competetly too. Definitely much more of a solid player then Toure.
