The anniversary slipped by unnoticed...
What a game,what an Atmosphere,and Caton Bennett and Power stood up to Everton on their own ground,Gerry Gow helped out too,not forgetting Kevin Reeves adroit header assist
I wasn't there.....but still remember listening to Radio 2 second half commentary back home in Carlton notts....one of the best days of my life.....had to do my paper round straight after final whistle....
Buzzing.on a Chopper bike,big beaming smile on my face...delivering football post to Carlton and St Anne's.....

I remember listening to this in the kitchen with my mam. We were losing and I was pacing around like Groucho Marx on wizz. Anyway, I went upstairs and we equalised. I went mental. Then we were losing again later on, I thought, I'll do the stairs trick again. Just got my foot on the first stair and boom! 2-2 I was running around the house like a fucking lunatic. Dad took me to the replay. Then the final replay. It didn't end well but I've got some of the best memories of that season.It's the first season I started going and the first I can remember.

Watched the game on the side of the pitch, so not behind the goal with the City fans.
I thought Paul Power's equaliser seemed to take ages to creep over the line ?
A great day, when the FA Cup really did matter...
 
Remember that day still, went with a reporter from the Daily Express, sat with my hands under my arse in the main stand!! After the game he had to do his summary and interviews while I sat in his car waiting, fucking hell, it was like the Wild West out there!!! Fights all over the place on waste land and coaches getting bricked!! Happy days!!

Brilliant.and yeah,that sounds like Everton away to me.
A scary place.but I loved it.
Regards Daily express,that was in the days when footy journalist s would talk of the game.

Used to love reading the papers for City results and match reports.

He wants us to win(he favored City or he had a bet)
There are just very subtle tones you can pick up and how he delivers the details....
All ever so slightly...Citys way...
Can any one pick it out..
 
The pitch, the players, the crowd, the noise...what a game. Great memory that! You never get those scenes anymore in the home and away ends like that anyomore. Power going absolutely mental with that goal was brilliant to watch. And Colemans commentary wasn't bad either.

Like you say... happy days indeed.
 
Paul Power actually got me and my dad tickets (together with a load of signed photos) for the replay, as my mam cut his aunties hair. Remember asking a steward with a pitchfork if I could go on the pitch and thank him after we´d won 3:1 (what an atmosphere that night by the way)
Was gutted that the steward wouldnt let me on...not as if I was dressed as an old firm fan with my 8 years old!

I always thought that with Barry Davies and Gerald Sinstadt.
 
Does anybody think...that modern players are shown video
footage like this..maybe to let them know how it was on Everton ground
Back in the day.....Foden of course would be aware of the Scouse Bite
Away from home..just a thought
 
I was in there..I think it was the first time a semi -final went to extra time instead of a replay.
