When you woke up on Derby day with a knot in your stomach, knowing deep down that our team was up against it and just hoping that we kept our pride intact and they didn't smash us on the pitch, knowing deep down that the odds were in their favour up against world stars and title winning teams.

Well this is just how our Rag neighbours will be waking up this morning. Only we had the guts, thick skin and the stomach for it.

The dirty Rags will have not slept well and they will spend the whole morning worrying, sweating and dreading that they don't get smashed off little old City !

Welcome to the new world any Rag lurkers on here.

The sun is out the sky is blue !

Happy Derby Day !

Really? They're four points behind and both are playing as shite as each other! Anything could happen today.

I like your optimism though and hope it is that and not arrogance and we do stuff them.

I'm completely indifferent to today's match. I'd even forgotten about it until Ducado asked me yesterday if I wanted a lift. It used to be as described - you'd have a knot in your stomach all week and defeat would crush you.

My connection with the club and my passion for it has been crushed by the soulless way it's being run, both on and off the field.

Fookin hell! - what would you be like as Villa or Newcastle (or Rag) fan??

There is undoubtedly too much money in football for my taste but the way City is run off the pitch is about as good as it gets nowadays. The German model (excluding Bayern the kraut rags) seems healthier and more sustainable but I cannot see anything similar happening over here.

I too am frustrated with the playing side this season especially after such a blistering start but have high hopes for next year.

If we get a decent result this afternoon surely you will at least raise a smile?

We used to be 30 points behind them at this stage ! 4 points ahead and 7 points ahead by this evening !

Come on City !

Was talking to BG this morning and sadly I think we're both starting feel the same, still going though might see you later

Agree with your assessment of previous derbies, but not convinced that United will be quaking in their boots. In fact, given that our two previous games have both finished goalless, as did the derby at the swamp, I can only share your hopes, but not your confidence.

Have felt like this myself for the last few years, dunno what it is :/

Maybe a bit of sustained success does that to fans, just can't get up for it.

Guvnors son is right.

I remember us getting beat at the Swamp and being content that Steve MacMahon had booted Paul Ince around the pitch for 90 minutes.

Another example, is we beat the rag "legends" in a 5 a side game to commemorate the fire crews that died in New York on 7/11. That win was celebrated by a mate, R kid and I driving around Stretford with City flags in the car windows.

It's still as important to me for us to outsing the scum as well as pick up the result! If I was t at the game I would have the same knot in my stomach described earlier!

I've not been bothered all week when normally I would be but I'm nervous this morning.

Here's hoping they show a bit of passion on the pitch today as this season has been draining and dull.

I could NEVER and will never feel like that about the club, especially on derby day, although I do agree with you that the club needs to take a long hard look at SOME of its policy decisions

Tell you what mate
There's plenty of desperate blues in the United ticket thread, why not let one of them have your ticket then you can go for a nice pub lunch somewhere?

Totally get this. Maybe a good thumping performance and win will go a long way.

Disappointing to hear that as you seem to know what's going on.

Last season finished in farcical circumstances as no one knew what was happening with the coach, but events seem to show that City did indeed have a long term plan to snare Guardiola. The 12 months of limbo, and disappointment is the price we are paying now. Football wise it's all been a disappointment, but I don't understand the off-field comments given that we have landed Guardiola. That's a fantastic off-field coup which should put things right on the pitch.
