Remember the days

Really? They're four points behind and both are playing as shite as each other! Anything could happen today.

I like your optimism though and hope it is that and not arrogance and we do stuff them.
The way both teams are playing it could be as boring as the one at the Swamp!

Ha Ha seen all this not bothered malarkey on various threads.

Let's see what the servers like if we get beat :)

I remember being stood on the Kippax before the 5-1 and thinking we were going to get hammered that day with Utd spending around £10,00000 that summer which was a lot of dough then. How fecking wrong I was.

Bizarrely these days we just don't know what City will turn up.For a derby game even when we were shit we knew they would come out and give it 100%,I can't say the same today which is a bit of a damning indictment given the players we have now. Without Kompany at the back it could be anything today and I include a hammering for either team.I hope it is and I pray it is us dishing one out and not taking it!

I felt the opposite after tonking them in the pre-season game (Mike Duxbury T) at their place, the problem was I expected that every time we played them thereafter.

Come on city!!! Not going today - spending the day with family instead. Am a bit pissed off with things at the moment but sure it will pass. Having some city time out!

Guvnors son is right.

I remember us getting beat at the Swamp and being content that Steve MacMahon had booted Paul Ince around the pitch for 90 minutes.

Another example, is we beat the rag "legends" in a 5 a side game to commemorate the fire crews that died in New York on 7/11. That win was celebrated by a mate, R kid and I driving around Stretford with City flags in the car windows.

It's still as important to me for us to outsing the scum as well as pick up the result! If I was t at the game I would have the same knot in my stomach described earlier!
I remember getting worked up when watching my nephew playing city versus united on his play station! It changed after the semi-final, that was the turning point when we became better than them. After that I started to really enjoying beating them left right and centre, then when we had the Moyles non-performances I started to lose the passion for the derby. I never thought I would ever feel like that, maybe it is part of the aging process!

When you woke up on Derby day with a knot in your stomach, knowing deep down that our team was up against it and just hoping that we kept our pride intact and they didn't smash us on the pitch, knowing deep down that the odds were in their favour up against world stars and title winning teams.

Well this is just how our Rag neighbours will be waking up this morning. Only we had the guts, thick skin and the stomach for it.

The dirty Rags will have not slept well and they will spend the whole morning worrying, sweating and dreading that they don't get smashed off little old City !

Welcome to the new world any Rag lurkers on here.

The sun is out the sky is blue !

Happy Derby Day !

Too right my son!

It's up to us fans today to encourage our boys to absolutely smash the scum!

I'm completely indifferent to today's match. I'd even forgotten about it until Ducado asked me yesterday if I wanted a lift. It used to be as described - you'd have a knot in your stomach all week and defeat would crush you.

My connection with the club and my passion for it has been crushed by the soulless way it's being run, both on and off the field.

Just pause for a second, things aren't all rosy this year but in the past 8 years we've won 2 league titles, 2 carling cups and 1 fa cup. The best manager in the world is also entering the building in July!! Its still the derby and if we lose today ill still be devastated!

Our ambitions are bigger than the Derby now, want to win it due to the position we've been put in (only 4 points ahead of them). Doesn't feel like a Derby Day, i'm sure it will once we've kicked off but we've been so fucking shit recently that I'm finding it hard to get up for this one.

Ah come on..as crap as we might be playing surely the derby is a date you circle in the diary. A day out and a few beers with your mates if nothing else.

I'm sure this season has had a lot to do with it and you're right of course. I'm sure I'll be fired up once I'm there.

The other thing is that it used to be a big game as beating them was one of the few things we had to look forward to. But since the 2011 semi-final & the 6-1, beating them has become routine. We're now miles better than them. They're no different to teams like Stoke these days. Nothing special.

I'm less than excited but it's purely because Manuel has worn me down like he has the players. Also tbf, Utd's players right now are the least cuntiest I can remember for a long time, especially without Rooney. And Van Gaal is more of a comedy genius than a serious leader of the Evil Empire.

If we had a proper manager, I'd be excited by the prospect of us putting 6 past this rag team but we can't even rely on that.

It will kick in properly for me, when I see the gormless cunts stood there singing their nursery rhymes. Then I'll be up for it.

Cunts.

Derby day's aren't the same to me, it's lost it's passion and flair over the years. I'm a season card holder and I missed Villa at home the other week because I was away and now I'm missing United today because I'm catching up on Uni work. Derby day is just like any other game to me these day's, whatever the out come I'll be happy if we win and/or play well and annoyed if we lose and/or play shit

Tbf our Derby is probably Chelsea now.

Okay enough of this crap. It's derby day. Win and it's our 50th competitive win against these bastards. Win and top 4 looks very likely. We've already won a trophy this season, they've won now't and aren't likely to. Sergio needs 3 to equal Rooney's 11 derby match goals. I'm leaving for the match in 15 minutes. C'mon City!
