Remembering Kurt Cobain & Layne Staley Who Both Died 30 & 22 Years Ago Today RIP

Always found it mad they didn't discover Layne Stayley til 2 weeks after he died, fully decomposed on his couch. You'd think somebody that famous would have at least 1 mate to check up on him, sad

Two excellent MTV Unplugged sets as well. The Alice in Chains one is a bit haunting as one of Staley's last performances.

Just say no, kids

I had Cobain in my Dead Pool (pick 10 people that will die in 1994) that year. He was under 40 so he was worth 2 points instead of 1. I also had Richard Nixon so I won going away.

Still think Nevermind is one of the most important records ever made.

Kurt Coldbrains eh? He was a member of that stupid 27 club. That was the age when they committed suicide/died: Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, Brian Jones (although he may have just drowned, been murdered?) too.

For how well nirvana were received when they came to prominence just something sticks with me that they were the start of the death of 80’s rock from crazy concerts and video’s to depressing music that would have you throw a rope up but then again maybe that’s me stuck in the 80’s oh well..

Alice in Chains are my favourite band from the Seattle grunge scene that emerged in the late 80s/early 90s. Soundgarden, Nirvana and Pearl Jam are all excellent too.

Love this performance:

Staley was an incredible talent. His work with Mad Season was amazing too.
