Been told it's 7 euros a pint in Dublin, can anyone confirm.

As a local ... pints start at €3:50 and head up to €6 in Temple Bar after midnight in SOME pubs.

€4 - €5 is average ... but lots of places doing sub €4 pints ... there is a recession on lads!

Nice one, that's cheered me up a bit (not the recession bit obviously)

For those of ye coming over for a drinking weekend.

I added Diceys which does €2 pints on Tuesdays . Only saying ...

O'Reillys under the bridge at Tara St station is great - €3.50 pints, good smoking area, easy to find. I only found out about it three weeks ago!

Here is a few on a map - <a class="postlink" href="http://bit.ly/pKkmkv" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://bit.ly/pKkmkv</a>

I'm only going to be able to make the Sunday games. Any blues going to be about then?
me&my sons gettin express down on Sunday(from Banbridge)

I'm going to be down there already from the Saturday morning but cant make the match on that day so will have to watch it in a pub. This Chaplins place sounds good if there are plenty of blues going! Would be good if we all headed there, at least we'd all be in the one place.

Flying in Saturday morning from Manchester, and back Sunday evening. Anyone recommend any hotels? Chaplins is on the radar. Should be a good warm up for the following weekend...........

There's quite a few of us on that flight. All staying in different places though, we're in a hotel in Temple Bar and some are in a hostel (don't know which one though).

Yeah were in a hotel in Temple bar. Think its on Eustace street or something like that. Can't wait now!<br /><br />-- Sun Jul 24, 2011 11:19 am --<br /><br />

Outdoor drinking is pretty much a no no with the police here so be wary.

Also 90% of Dublins hostels are full of junkies and refugees so I'd thoroughly check out the hostel being used.if it's gardener street make other plans.isaacs hostel and Avalon house are probably only 2 in Dublin I'd stay in.

My friend and I are in the Riverhouse Hotel in Temple Bar. I'll tell the ones staying in the hostel what you said.

Dublin's newest hostel with a bar included in the price ...

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.generatorhostels.com/en/dublin/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.generatorhostels.com/en/dublin/</a>

€10 a night supposed to be good. Not necessarily true about the hostels ... the homeless do stay in purpose built hostels most of the time.

Most of them are ok.

4 of us in the Clarion hotel on the other side of the Liffey, it's a bit pricey at 529 euros for 3 nights but can cancel it right up till the 28th
