Replacement for Yaya

Didn't Yaya mention that he was possibly looking at quitting international football in order to concentrate on winning silverware with us?

I think he's missing the ACON next season (they're switching it so it doesn't clash with the World Cup, and I don't think after the last final he also fancies missing club football two years on the bounce). But I'm not sure if that means a retirement from international football all together.

In my mind the teams biggest challenge, he is immense. In fairness whoever comes in can't be expected to replace him so its key to lower expectations.

Fellani is interesting but inconsistent, and not sure if he could handle the pressure, expectations are low at Everton and I've seen him get nasty when things get intense. He is young and relatively fit. Doesen't offer much going forward.

M'villa is great but more of a destroyer.

I like Alaba but hard to pry anyone away from Bayern.

Its no coincidence the Rags have struggled (relatively speaking) since Scholes started to decline a few years back, and I don't think anyone really appreciates how much cover Rooney gives their CM's. If they had a more typical CF instead of Rooney they would have finished back near Arsenal this year in points total.

if he gets crocked we need a back up - Fellaini is gettable I think and would do well - particularly good in the up front role giving it a bit of elbow as at the swamp recently. And he's Belgian.

I am a massive Fellaini fan. I think he is so smooth and so smart with the ball in midfield. He wins everything in the air, amazing touch, good passer, would love to see him and Yaya in the same midfield. Another player I really like who I think is somewhat underrated is Mohamed Diame. Not near as good as Fellaini but I wouldn't mind having him for backup purposes.

agree. considering this guy's physical attributes and skill set, it's baffling why he hasn't attracted more attention than he has.

based on his game at OT alone, you'd think the scum would be in for him.

Arturo Vidal alongside or rotating with Yaya would be incredible. Vidal is en route to becoming one of the best midfielders in Europe and I wish we had looked at him last summer when he was available quite cheap from Leverkusen. Now there'd be no chance of getting him from Juventus for anything reasonable. So many bargains from the Bundesliga lately!
