I am a season ticket holder and travel up from Kent. For the blackpool game, I am coming up with a major foodie who is a food critic for a posh magazine, so want to take him to a great restaurant in the centre of manchester.

I would welcome any suggestions.

Thanx

You may have left it a bit late to get in the better ones but here are three to consider.

San Carlo
Michael Caines at Abode
The Grill on the alley

Avoid Rosso - Ferdinand owns it

San Carlos - at side of Kendals ( deansgate)

Not cheap, but unless you want to do fine dining, it is easily the best restaurant in Manchester.

^ Michael Caines at Abode is 'fine dining' and is good. Seldom booked up in my experience. But San Carlos is the better all round experience.

as already said Grill on the alley

If he knows The Smithfield in Farringdon, he'll know how good it is
