Results of 1894's Fan Survey (Page 11) - 5,159 Supporters Took Part

We do the same in July but the last two seasons have been a nightmare. Queuing online for about 4 hrs to get through, than it's impossible to get seats next to each other. I think it's a complete mess to be honest
Found this summer easier than the summer before. That said this summer we booked singles one sat behind the other same seats for each game, also for the first time didn’t stress about the last home game ( maybe I knew deep down :)) So just booked any games every 5 or 6 weeks.

Yes, understand all that, just out of curiosity, how many were 1894 members? Though suppose what I’m really asking is how many from outside your own data base took part.
Like I say though I don’t really disagree with much of the results and not sure a bigger sample would have changed them much, maybe more don’t knows.
Our membership is 2600 but M33 on here can clarify how many members responded in time

After watching wheelchair bound City fans suffer in the bus park shambles at Istanbul, this doesn't surprise me I'm afraid. If the club can't even acknowledge that life-threatening scenario, they certainly won't be prioritising the issue you've highlighted, despite their duty of care.

Shameful.
I wonder what response/activity 1894 would've generated if they'd created a survey of City fans pre and post match experiences of the Istanbul CL Final ?

Dangerous & life threatening !!

I know, though surely more than 5159 match attending fans do and 1894 have their own social media this isn’t a criticism of them though, not much more they can do.
I’m sure a few years ago I saw a figure of over 60,000 regular match attending / season.Obviously that’s a data base held by the club which can’t be accessed but their must be a way of reaching more than 5100 regular fans.
I'm absolutely sure the request to fill in the survey "reached more than 5100 regular fans". It's getting a high percentage to respond that is the issue !

I certainly didn’t speak to 5,000 fans like 1894’s brilliant survey, but hopefully the report I produced was reflective of what fans experienced.

Yes and that’s the problem, it gives the club the opportunity to say the other 90% aren’t that bothered. Maybe they aren’t,though that would surprise me surely many more have an opinion.

I only ever sent a letter to City once.

It was to Franny Lee to suggest employing a good up and coming manager and ex Blue by the name of Martin O'Neill.

It was obviously ignored and Alan Ball was given the job. Never even got a fckin reply!
my dad wrote to swales when mcneill quit saying i'd be a good manager, i was 11 at the time, would be on less money than john bond :)

we would say well go on then, do and publish your own survey then if you feel it's not reflective

they won't

Having worked in Market Research for 30 Years I'm well aware of the issues surrounding the motives and structure of a survey, and also the apathy of the potential audience

You also have to allow for"The Shy Tory Factor" (Google it) to appreciate that some people's private opinions don't always tally with their public personna

Factually, anecdotally and professionally, I can prove that the proportion of City shirts on the school sports fields has increased significantly in the last 15 Years and it's absolutely critical that the cheapest match tickets possible are aimed at this generation.

Different story for cheap seasoncards as they often attract a completely different demographic, who view them as an opportunity to miss the less attractive games and still get good value

Publicly they might give you all the answers you want to hear, but privately their motives are far more selfish

However it's important to recognise that other PL clubs suffer from the same issue

Liverpool only got 47,000 v PSG (59,000 for the Group games) and their forums are jammed with complaints about tourists,.PSG fans in the home end,.and the gradual alienation of their traditional fanbase.

Alex, I know it's been said before by many fans but the amount of time and effort you put into that was off the scale and I think it was shameful of the club to not acknowledge that in any meaningful way by making a public statement about the negative experiences many of our fans faced.

However, in their case any alienation from the traditional fanbase is an improvement.

Previous Value Gold members don’t get priority to renew over any other season ticket holder.

If you’re still interested and the criteria is the same as usual next season, you’ll almost certainly be able to get one.
I knew that, cheers. Just didn't get on the Internet during the shirt window, due to family matters. It is what it is. Ta!

Just a point of order on the OP and perhaps a bit of a dig at the myopathy it shows.

Not everyone is a game going fan. Quite the opposite. Most City fans never get to see them live.

That should be reflected in the title of the OP because you are reinforcing the division of the two and negating the mass of supporters.

It should read "Stadium ticket holders".
It should really just say "Season ticket holders" because thats all its arsed about.

I get the OP. But its divisive and myopic.
