Retirement...when, how old and how much??

Unless the tax implications and interest rates of savings versus mortgage costs are identical then it seems to me your US experience is utterly irrelevant.

My apologies for sharing information. I thought that’s what we did here, no?

I didn’t say I was driving an Aston Martin to my beach house in the Cayman’s this weekend to count my money. I merely talked about how one might potentially arrange their finances if they were fortunate enough to be in the position of deciding g whether to pay off one’s mortgage or keep the money on account to do otherwise with that money.

I notice, with xenophobic interest, that you didn’t complain about utility costs with the fella who was wondering whether to payoff his house or invest the money.

Those fucking Yanks, eh?! If they’re not shooting at you, they’re ignoring your very personal financial struggles, as if they don’t have a care or concern of their own! Twats!!

SMH
What does SMH mean?
I wasnt being xenophobic, that isnt what Im about and far from it.

Shaking My Head.

I was 90% joking about the xenophobia, but the America bashing is quite prevalent on here. It’s not as if Manc is Eden :-D
it's not, but we didn't elect Trump once, never mind consider it a second time ;)

A Brit lecturing a “Yank” about recent elected leadership? Did I wander into the Irony Section of BM, because it has NOTHING to do with the subject at hand!

Two things:

1) Early morning here, and glasses not on, so I apologize for not seeing the smiley!

2) I was born and raised in England. Did you not see the “quotes.” Common mistake. Came here as an adult and my job is here.

City Season Ticket Holder for many a year now! First one was North Stand, Block N, Row 10, Seat 1…9 rows behind Helen. Before that, I was a Platt Lane rat, because we walked to the match with my Granddad from their house on Horton Rd. He walked us to the turnstile on his way to his ST in the Main Stand! Plus, I wouldn’t have seen a thing in the Kippax because I was about 5 or 6 when I started going to games with my 8-9 yr old sister (still a ST Holder in 202 @ Etihad). Graduated to the wall in the tunnel at the Platt Lane - Kippax corner flag, then got the North Stand ST. It’s been a minute.

;-)

Ah that explains why you recognised irony

I sat on that wall as a youngster in the 70's, it wasn't you who tried to push me off was it?
