I had some in Greece years ago on the advice of a so called mate, it was fuckig disgusting. I kept seeing it in Lidl and today I finally decided to have another go. What a revelation I fucking love the Lidl version, cold as can be from the fridge. Sorry mate you were right all along.

Ahh memories of our family holidays to Greece and my folks and my aunt having ‘retsina frenzies’ where tables and chairs would go flying as we played mercy in the restaurants. Ouzo frenzies and raki frenzies were also popular. Finally going back to Greece in a few months so may partake in some retsina

Whilst I am not a wine expert by any means, I do like a glass or two. I love Retsina. Spent a couple of long Summers in Greece when I was in my 20's and every time I taste it I am taken back. I honestly think it is an underrated wine, and almost impossible to find. As you say, Lidl have it on Greek week but that is it. Interestingly, Aldi sold for a while a similar Greek wine but that seems to have gone west too...
