How is that a test event? People in the same area are mixing all the time, supermarkets, petrol stations, parks, and pubs as of a few weeks time. Or is the plan for music festivals and Euro Championship Games to only be for local residents!? Surely the whole point would be to test the results of movement from different parts of the country to a game?
I think for the moment the whole purpose is how they get people into and out of a stadium safely and how they move them around when inside adhering to some level of social distancing.

Someone puts something on twitter the news sites say "it is reported that" when nothing has been announced or confirmed.

Thanks Jim.
I wonder if these 4,000 tickets are going to be given away for FREE to local residents.
Or will the FA expect local residents with no affiliation to either team be expected to shell out from their own pockets.
All of us on here know how expensive tickets at Wembley for these games.
No one will be expected to buy tickets - and it seems there is suspiciously very little detail about anything.

Register your interest for Wembley Stadium pilot events
Dear Partners,

Brent Council has been supporting the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the Football Association (FA) to develop a series of pilot events at Wembley Stadium to test how large stadia events can safely reopen to the public in line with the Government’s roadmap to opening up this summer.

Part of this will be to pilot the return of crowds at Wembley Stadium’s two upcoming matches:

FA Cup Semi Final, Leicester vs Southampton, Sunday 18 April (kick off 6.30pm)

Carabao Cup Final, Tottenham vs Manchester City, Sunday 25 April (kick off 4pm).

There will be a limited number of spectators sitting socially distanced at each pilot event and these are going to be allocated to Brent Council staff, Brent and NWL NHS and care staff, local school teachers and pupils over 18, Wembley Park residents and business and the local voluntary sector. These groups have been chosen as they are largely already in regular testing regimes.

The second event will have a larger capacity and also include fans.

You can register your interest to attend these pilot events online now.

If you have been successful, you will be notified by email. To be able to attend the Carabao Cup Final, you will also need to have registered your interest to attend the FA Cup Semi-Final on 18 April 2021.

Each person contacted will qualify for two tickets for each match. However, please note that for consideration for the second match you will need to have registered an interest or preferably attended the first match.

BEFORE YOU REGISTER
By submitting the form and registering your interest, you consent to ALL of the following conditions:

Each attendee must return at least one negative lateral flow Covid-19 test before attending the match, undertaken 24 hours prior to each event.
Each attendee will need to show proof of the negative result (e.g. an email or text) to gain entry to the Stadium. No exceptions will be allowed.
Each attendee will also need to commit to taking a PCR Covid-19 home test after the event.
It is each attendee’s responsibility to organise the lateral flow test required prior to the event.
Brent Council will collate the relevant information required to process your register of interest and share with the Football Association.
You can only register once. Duplicate emails will be deleted. No correspondence will be entered into.
Thank you.
