Return of Supporters

Best way of giving out League Cup finals is everyone who was at York away should get one - there were only 2,000 of us there that day.....
True story - I had a ticket for York away but my wife had an accident on a works night out and ended up in hospital the night before. Our youngest was only months old at the time, so couldn't go. Ended up missing two games that season and that was one of them.

Ha! What was the other?
Reminds me of the day queuing up for tickets for Wigan away in the League which was the day we played Macc away.
Arrived around 5am and it was freezing / raining or both.
By the time I got back to Moston I wasnt well at all and headed straight to bed..... At noon I gave my ticket for the Macc game to a friend and spent the afternoon listening to GMR in bed!

If you test positive ... don’t think the game should be top of your worries ... but perhaps getting a second test to confirm the result of the first one and go from there accordingly. Wouldn’t want to be passing it back to your loved ones when you head home if you have caught it somewhere ...
i was just stating that pubs normaly dont allow fans in around wembley once the game kicks off ! they shut during the game etc thats even if pubs would be open to watch sports inside by april 25 th anyway
I'v had both jabs and so has my wife already !
not that that is 100%

There'd have to be a Covid carriage on the train to get you back.

Seriously much too much of a lottery to try to get a ticket/trave/test etc.

It's like going abroad on holiday the hassle of the whole thing kills the enjoyment

The other was the Friday night game at Darlington in the cup.

On a related topic I noticed this came out on Thursday.
if we have vaccine passports or tests to get into large venues, isn’t there a real risk that away fans don’t get access next season?
away supporters are seen as a hassle as it is and having to check everyone’s test results or vaccine status would make it even worse.
I say this as a regular away supporter. I have, looking at the governmentA’s travel plans, given up on the idea of going to European aways, and for each club, I can see them seeing no away fans as less happen all aroun.
am I being overly worried?

That's for summer events from 21st June, no wonder the LTA/Wimbledon are on it and not IHUK.

Away supporters have always been seen a hassle so it will save a few quid on policing and they can charge home fans more, so I doubt there will be a big rush to get them back in. i can't see away fans in August bay any stretch, possibly not until 2022.

I could imagine something like official transport for away fans only. With confirmed vaccinations/clear test being provided prior to travelling.

It was a long time ago but I thought it was Northampton tickets that went on sale the morning of the Macc away game? Either way, think I was in the queue even earlier than you and once we’d gotten our tickets we got the train to Macc and were on the piss from about 10.30am.....while you were tucked up in bed!

I went to Northampton - funny story how I got tickets....
You had to have a Northampton post code to get tickets in their end. I asked around if anyone had a relative or friend in the Northampton area and a friend knew someone from Rushden from his student days and was still in touch with him.
A quick phone call later and his friend agreed I could use his address.
The next day I was driving to London for work and called Northampton Town up, said I was the manager of the Northampton School of Language and had 6 Japanese students over for 2 weeks and they wanted to watch a game and the time they are over is when Town play Manchester City and can I buy them tickets?
Not only did he say yes, but charged me student / child ticket rate and said they would be in the Family Stand! Of course I couldn't say that 6 adult tickets away from the family stand would be fine so just tried not to be laughing on the phone as I gave my details.
3 hours later I am at their ticket office and have the tickets in my hand - 2 weeks before tickets went on sale at Maine Road.
On the day, the 6 of us, all adults and pissed, took up our seats in the Family Stand!

So.....

No children allowed to the Wembley test games.

Tests to be taken at test sites ahead of the game - no home testing allowed.

All seating 1mtr apart.

Majority attending from Brent to reduce travel.

I remember that Northampton game, was in a bar in Benelmadena on the Costa del Sol watching Sheffield Wednesday v Arsenal on a giant screen while smaller telly's showed other prem league games while other screens had Sky Sports news on. Self and brother both pissed as farts and danced round the place celebrating as City got an injury time goal to equalise at fucking Northampton. Today feel pissed off as we only lead the premier league by eleven points. Getting spoiled, turning into entitlement junkies like rags and dippers. Never forget where we've come from blues.
