Sturridge with a hand in both of those goals.

Such a shame he is gone.

was thinking this myself. What a colossal mistake by Mark Hughes.

A player who believes that he is one of the best in the world and has numerous fans who regularly tell him he is.

Unfortunately for him, his real achievement in football, as in having a genuine, significant impact on a team that has achieved something, are absolutely zilch.

He has achieved nothing in the game, other than getting a series of high profile moves, always resulting in him struggling to hold down a first team place.

He is so far away from being one of the world's top players it is laughable. He would struggle to get in my top 100.

If we want to talk flawed players who have the ability to excite but could be a let down, then I'll take Kinkladze over him. Apart from goalscoring records, mainly due to Robinho playing in a different position, there was nothing in Robinho's game that Kinkladze could not replicate.

Both will look back at their careers and have serious regrets (although I imagine Robinho will always have someone else to blame, rather than himself) and both could possibly have been so much more. At least Kinkladze didn't have this myth around him though that he was one of the world's best players for ten years.

Robinho - serial substitute and heart like a pea.

Mark Hughes said it in an interview a while after he was sacked (don't quote me on this, but) when he was asked about Robinho and his response was something like "right player at the wrong time".

I'd agree with him, the system we play in now and the players we have are suited for him and I think the teams work ethic would bring the best out of him, or at least I'd like to think it would. He's a great player, a world beater at times and I do miss him but there's a lot about him I don't miss...
disagree mate. we needed that luxury player, the marque signing to put us on the map and show our ambition. right player at the right time for me.

All of our current attacking players play for the team and work their bollocks off like against Arsenal. Even Balotelli is playing for the team now.

Robinho only played for himself and it would be a disgrace to still have him in this team, when you have far more talented and potent players like Silva and Aguero working their bollocks off, Robinho shouldn't be allowed near them.

Balotelli, Dzeko, Aguero, Silva, (too early for Nasri), Johnson, Barry, Milner, all work for the team and each other, Robinho isnt even as good as half of that list. He missed some serious sitters and not for lack of trying. Even Tevez worked for the team before he became a **** overnight

Are you honestly sayin AJ is better than Robinho?
Honestly, yes. AJ in form is nothing to sneeze at and he works a lot harder than Robinho does. He's the only true out and out winger in our squad and brings a lot more to our team than Robinho would in this current squad hence one is here and the other is in Milan.

And AJ can do those fancy step overs too.
He doesn't work any harder than Robinho, doesn't possess as much natural talent and is no more prepared to get stuck in than the Brazilian was.

If AJ worked harder he'd play more minutes than he does, he really does know how to disappear on a football pitch. He is a poor man's Robinho at the moment.

Too weak. Attempted to do his defensive duties, but wasn't very good at them. Succumb to the same pressure Torres is getting at Chelsea. Excellent on the ball but returning to my original point, was just too weak.

he was stage 1 in raising our profile - a show pony who only played when he wanted to

stage 2 was tevez who was just a selfish but on the pitch he performed

stage 3 is aguero who isn't here without stage 1 and 2

i think our owners have known what we were getting all the way along and judged them acceptable risks in view of the bigger picture
