I was in the section where it was quite noisy. All good fun really, the racist abuse is the first ive heard of it didn't hear any at all? Flares and smokebombs its one of them you either like them or don't. I only heard about 1 munich song but was watching the match so may have missed it if there was a few.

Then at halftime the stewards advised us to move over to the terrace. This is when it turned from a good atmosphere to a sour one because as stated someone threw a bottle at a city fan who had been ejected for being too drunk. It then kicked off with one lad having a stool thrown over his head. The police/Stewards managed to get everything in order again until the end of the match when the United fans were outside waiting for the city fans. It then kicked off a bit up the road but the place was soon swarming with police.

Got to be honest the city fans were just defending themselves that's how I saw it, I don't understand why people who didn't even go feel the need to slag off their own fans when they don't know what actually went on.

I wasn't there but I bet you're a 2 pint wonder who sings munich songs and sells smoke bombs to kids.
You forgot to mention racist.

I did mate. Elliot you're a racist.

No they are not fans, in your very own words you try to defend them and then say they had been looking for trouble all game.

Fucking mindless idiots that want to drag football back to the dark ages and you defending them is no better.

think you might want to read his post again

Well a comma may have helped the later part of his sentence lol
When he said Utd songs I presumed he meant what the other poster said about drunk City fans singing Munich songs, but he was still defending these young boys who like to have fun by fighting or did I read that bit wrong also ?[/

If you didn't attend the game and weren't there to witness the 'racism' which was non existent, along with the few united fans stood abusing passing city fans, then I don't think you can comment or slag off these 'mindless idiots' who were simply defending a mate of their's who had a bottle thrown at his head.

Agreed it is a crappy little town which attracts a lot of scousers and scallies to live there for some reason.City fans coming into town would be too much to resist for the local loons not to have some fun picking fights etcetera. This sort of nothing fixture close to home in a seaside resort[the first team being in Finland] would always attract the pissheads and half wits who support us to travel down so the recipee was always there for trouble.

Surprised the incidents managed to get 7 pages on it, it was hardly the battle of the Alamo. Ryhl and city mingled well both before and after it and the young city lads involved were not a bad bunch, just a couple of loose cannons among them

Nicely put. You seem a happy chappy?!

Was at the match, some of the city fans were well pissed , one could hardly walk into the ground, but they let him in, left before the end, so did"nt see it kicking off, did not see any utd fans . every team has a certain amount of dickheads that follow them. we have our share.

Good point.
However when the EDS played there last year it did not happen. I happened to be in a mixed section of Rhyl and City fans. At half-time a group of Rhyl supporters changed ends and said the banter and chanting was good natured with the exception of the first flare in a covered and confined space and the "M" songs... which in fact had been sung outside the main pub by City fans and that was without any provocation by the Rhyl supporters who were in there.... it's not big, funny or clever then to explain to opposing fans it means MU never intended.....etc etc.

The second flare was thrown on to the pitch and the referee accused of having sex with sheep when he kicked it off the field of play.
I doubt if any of these lads had ever heard of Frank Swift... didn't see the bottle incident but heard it was after the game in the car park outside.

Agree with anglesey blue... I felt is was an embarrassment. Lots of wifes, dads, lads and young 'us having to put up with songs about a south Bavarian City with illegitimate inhabitants and slang words for the female anatomy.

Never heard any Rhyl supporters singing about the Rags... only "We hate Bangor..." lots of others in there wearing LFC and EFC tops. Only about 20 young blues off their heads.

Will forget Prestatyn next week and look forward to the Barcodes at the Etihad.
Our EDS side are very talented and the Welsh Premier sides could do with all income.

Living in that shithole no wonder they wanted some entertainment.

How sad that some people feel the need to be so unpleasant about places such as Rhyl
Many generations of Mancunians enjoyed their annual holidays there but - like most seaside towns - it has suffered decline over the years.
From what I hear most City fans had a great time and were made most welcome - as they were last year.
If you haven't got anything positive to say - perhaps you would be betteroff saying nothing!

And if you have to behave like a complete tw*t at a friendly, maybe it's time to start supporting a different team?
Just a suggestion.
