Ribery Breaking News......(MERGED)

I haven't heard ''City rule out a last minute deal''. All it has said on SSN is that we ruled out a move for Bentley.

of the BBC site

1414: Official on-the-record chat from Manchester City - and it involves Tottenham's David Bentley. They say, wait for it, they absolutely will not be signing the midfielder either on a permanent basis or a loan. Their business this transfer window, they say, is done and dusted. Apparently just over £200m on 13 new players is considered about enough to launch an assault on the Premier League's top-dogs.

Erm?

Not saying hes gonna sign but there are a few hours left to do it in.

No midnight last night for european transfers, only english clubs to each other today.

How can Rangers be still buying players when it wasn't a bank holiday in Scotland yesterday??

Heitinga going to Everton looks like being done today and he's not from an English club.

Because it ISN'T British clubs between themselves - the window is for registering players - European clubs can't register players but British teams can so transfers from European teams to British clubs are acceptable.

My question was that yesterday was a working day in Scotland, so why do teams north of the border seem to have dispensation to trade today as well?
