OK here is my attempt at making 2 + 2 make 5!
Last day of the window last August we apparently bid for Berbatov (which I got told was always a red herring, if you remember Hughes was strolling around a golf course) and then from nowhere we nick Robinho off Chelski.
This time we are supposedly in for Bentley, as well as offloading our left sided back up in Petrov, but could it be we are in fact trying to get Ribery.
Afterall our owners are still in the market for a landmark signing.
Why today? well with the European transfer markets now shut no chance of having Real Madrid come in at the eleventh hour.
Probably wont happen but I certainly would not be surprised after what happened with Robinho.
