Sky Sports reporting Ribery signs a new five year deal to stay at Bayern. So that's one major signing going nowhere this summer.

Aaah well.

Billy, glad you said it as I was about to. I think once his baggage is sorted out he'll move on. To say he doesn't fancy it in one of the big 3 leagues hints of arrogance. That's SSN and Talkshite speak. There is nothing wrong with the German league, apart from the fact that it's run properly and teams can't get into £bn's worth of debt to finance wages that will eventually bankrupt the club!BillyShears said:Bluemoon115 said:He will always be known as a player who never fancied himself in any of the big 3 leagues.

Sorry mate, but the German league is much better than the Spanish one, regardless of what some pundits say. Bayern are arguably as big a club as any in the world, and he's playing under a world class manager in Van Gaal.

There may be an element of that involved to be fair, these days if you want to be truly tested at club level, you go to England, Spain or Italy. French league football, and German league football, simply don't have the strength in depth or talent pool that the "big three" do. You have to wonder, if you're supposedly one of the World's top talents, why would you avoid playing at the highest level possible?
