Probably have had him watched and decided to hand Kolarov a new 3 year deal instead.

How often have you seen him play? I confess to only having seen him about 10 times, from the limited amount of times I've seen he's technically decent, got a better cross than Clichy, more athletic than Kolarov.
A major upgrade on clichy and a reasonably good upgrade on kolarov(with potential to go on even further). Pretty sure he made about 10 assists last season and also scored 5 goal, clichy is nowhere near his standard. One of the best left backs in Europe last season without doubtRay78 said:Not an upgrade on either Kolarov or Clichy,

nonsense ??
Bruun said:He's a young Kolarov, same crossing technique, and same urge to get forward.
BigOscar said:I'm happy enough to let Clichy and Kolarov fight it out while Angelino continues to progress nicely. He could easily be in our team in a year or two, he looks very special, especially going forwards.
I think he has the technical quality required, it's just about how quickly he develops physically and how he uses that defensively. He's 17 now and you'd expect him to be getting to the right level physically by 19 or 20. When you see the amount of quality he has with his delivery, it's hard to see him not becoming a very good player sooner or later.FantasyIreland said:BigOscar said:I'm happy enough to let Clichy and Kolarov fight it out while Angelino continues to progress nicely. I like the Angelino part but he's still a way off the first team.
I think left back is our Achilles when it comes to the elite games, can we make the necessary progress in that period with our current two,and then hope Angelino does fulfil that incredible potential? I'm not convinced.
