Why was his burial performed by a CofE bishop when he was a Catholic king?
The Church of England was a Catholic church at the time. In other words, the Church of England adopted Protestantism at the Reformation. It is an institution rather than a region/denomination.

I flicked over to the news yesterday and saw swathes of people lined up alongside the roads to throw white roses onto the coffin of an exhumed body that died 530 years ago. Obviously this was not anything close to the 'death of Diana' collective public loss of sanity, but it must at least be on the same scale. You probably couldn't get half of those people out to vote, yet here they all were, spending their Sundays mourning a death of an infanticidal king 530 years too late.

They are queuing around several blocks outside Leicester Cathedral just to get a glimpse of his coffin

Seems a lot of fuss to bury a dead guy.

Why Leicester anyway ? I thought he was Richard of York and didn't he kill a couple of kids ?

Is Operation Yewtree aware of this?

some rich bastard that died hundreds of years ago got buried again then

yawn

The whole idea of 'Kings and Queens' should have been left in the middle ages. The fact that we still have one is a complete joke.
And have an elected head of state which would be someone of the ilk Tony Blair or Simon Cowell. Do me a favour.

Well at least it would be democratic and after 5 years of Simon Cowell we could get rid of him. Sounds very sensible to me.

He should have been buried at Westminster Abbey along with the other kings of his age

Yes, but in the 500 years since his death and his reburial sensibilities and norms have changed.

You can see the headline now;

Child Killer To Be Buried In The Abbey.

Has it been proved that he actually did it, or was it a case of Tudor propaganda?
