No, it's not another "bring back the Dunnie monster" thread. Just wondering what must be going through the Irishman's head as he watches his team chase and probably overtake his former team in the race for 4th spot. To be honest, man for man, they are probably the third strongest eleven in the league, only let down by a small squad. With so many playing for World Cup places, Villa are definite contenders. We really need them to pick up an injury or three. If we don't make it, I really hope Dunnie reaches the Champions League next season. He deserves it.

He deserves it why? Didn't City pay him well for playing for the club? Didn't we turn his career around when nobody else wanted him?

Not many clubs were knocking at the door when we sold him?

Also in one breathe you want him to reach the CL and in the next you're wanting Villa to get injuries so they don't???

One dimensional - cut out one element of the pace and they are stuck. They are a team who would get 4th spot by default.

Why will Villa overtake us?

Im a fan of Dunne but I was only reminded our his performce against Hamburg at home. Our biggest match for years and he reverts to type; sent off and ended our chances.

Thanks Dunnie.

Spurs easily have a better starting XI than Villa. Ok so we're hardly Arsenal, but Villa reply upon scoring from either counter attacks or set pieces, thats it. Also I don't understand why you think they'll overtake us, we've both got 2 games in hand over the others and we're a point ahead of them.

They have a much easier run-in, that's why. In case of any misunderstanding, I said that I only want Villa to come fourth if we don't make it. Rather them than poxy Scousers or Spurs.

I agree with that.

I can't remember off the top of my head, but surely they have some of the top 4 to play still?
