I thought it was bobbins. Apart from a couple of fleeting interviews with the Sheikh it was full of tired old drab from newspapers & rewritten extracts from other books or interviews. Nothing new or exciting IMO but each to their own.
I seriously doubt you've read it. He didn't interview the Sheikh for one thing and a lot of it is autobiographical.

Correction, not the Sheikh, interview was with chairman Khaldoon, no-one gets to interview the Sheikh. As I said its my opinion but i finished the book & my thoughts were it was poor. Written nicely but lacking in depth and without much substance, i didn't see the point of it other than the author ambushing the newly elated Champions fans eager to lap up any ink on a page. I think Conn was out to make a few quid & also had the extracts of the interview in his Guardian column.

OK if that's your view, however, most of the people who have wanted said that the book was a good read appear to be lifelong fans. If the book was aimed at a newer generation of Blues then I doubt DC would have focused so much on Franny Lee, how the stadium was finances and his appreciation of F.C. United.

Thx for your sharing your opinion. I am a City lifer, through thin & thinner. Ive just finished 50 sheds of grey, now theres a read ;)

-- Mon Aug 05, 2013 4:26 pm --

Is this the same writer that wrote an article reccently linking our owners and club with human rights violations?

English football has been warned it has allowed one of its major clubs to be exploited as a "branding vehicle" by an international regime accused of human rights abuses after a trial in Abu Dhabi, a country ruled by Manchester City's owner and his brothers, was widely denounced as repressive, involving torture, and "fundamentally unfair".

That's the opening paragraph from the Guardian last week

Yes comes across sometimes as a right fucking bellend. He used to rabbit on about how cheap German football was when you compare to England. Though never actually but across the full story. He comes across as a bit of a fucking attention seeker and will dramatize everything. Luckily most people ignored his last rant about human rights as they all know what a whinging fucker he can be.

Someone should tell him that God doesn't exist .... i'm richer than God for that matter.
