Those awards hosting events are probably the only time I’ve found him consistently funny.

Yeah. Thing is most probably first saw him in the Office, which was genius, but he was a twat on the 11 0’Clock show before that, it’s always been there.

Didn't know anyone else had seen that. You're right it's always been there. In his (best) work he manages to cover/subdue it. I do think the work is variable, his best is really funny.
