Ricky Hatton RIP

I happened to be on his flight back from Vegas after he lost to Mayweather and although he must have been gutted and tempted to hide away, he had time for everyone.

Top bloke, top blue. Unbelievably sad news.

RIP Hitman

Amir Khan tribute on twitter:

Today we lost not only one of Britain’s greatest boxers, but a friend, a mentor, a warrior, Ricky Hatton.

As fighters, we tell ourselves we’re strong — we train, we sweat, we take hits, we get up. But sometimes the hardest fight happens in silence, in the mind. Mental health isn’t weakness. It’s part of being human. And we must talk about it. We must reach out. We must lean on each other.

Ricky, thank you for everything. For your fights, your moments of glory, your grit. Thank you for pushing us, showing us what’s possible.
To everyone reading this: if you’re hurting or struggling, you are not alone. Talk. Reach out. Because we need more light, more compassion, more understanding.

Rest well, Ricky. You’ll always have your place in the ring of our memories. ️

Tragic news. Flew the flag for both City and Manchester itself. A legendary figure whose legacy will out live us all.

RIP meet him once in hyde ,he was on the front and back page of the Hyde gazette bought one and asked if he would sign it for my brother who wasn't in a good place he said of course i will sign it ,top bloke will be missed.

Such awful and saddening news . Ricky was a true blue and a true champion. I went to several of his earlier fights and recall with pride his career highlight when he beat the Australian champion Tszyu. I feel very sorry today and am upset for his family and for the wider blue family that were fans of Ricky. We’ve lost a good un today Theres no doubt about that. RIP champ
