Ricky Hatton RIP

Absolutely gutted to hear this news. I have never been a boxing fan - probably not watched a fight in over a decade - but you can bet I watched Ricky.

I remember being behind him in the queue to get some food in London Victoria Station a few years back. Didn't notice it was him until it was too late, or would have thanked him for making being a City fan just a little bit easier when I was in school.

RIP Blue

Bunce is a relic of decades gone, I will miss him a lot when he finally retires fully, the man is so passionate about boxing it’s infectious.
Him and Mike Costello were a great combination until Mike moved on.

Lifelong city fan and a boxing fan. When City were treading water for what felt like a decade, Ricky was wearing the badge with pride, never took a step back and never ducked anyone. Absolute warrior.

Ricky was a class act, and he gave City fans nights they will never forget, nevermind boxing fans.

Rest in peace Hitman. You will be loved and missed.

i met Ricky once in cardiff. he'd been part of a group of boxers doing a chat and afterwards went to some local pubs. bit of an entourage but not much. my wife had asked him to come over and say hello with realising. he was leaving the bar when he remembered and he came all the way back to the beer garden where i was. chatted, and photos with us. nothing bad to say about him. a gent.
