I can't see him being one for respect mate
Wouldn’t surprise me if when Hatton first saw that suit, he laughed and said if he pops it first, Fury has to wear that to his funeral, followed by something like ‘you big daft ****!’To be fair to him, Hatton often said when he was in a dark place during covid, Fury was always the first to phone him and see how he's doing.
Fury ain't a bad fella and clearly had massive respect for him and he was in Fury's corner for the first Wilder fight.
The suit is a bit much for a funeral but that's who he is. Ricky was a big character himself. I doubt Fury means any disrespect. He was his mate and just being himself. Still, probably just better to wear a better suit.
Exactly what I was thinking, in the documentary he takes the piss out of his own clothes and shows a wardrobe full of of frankly bloody awful jackets,Wouldn’t surprise me if when Hatton first saw that suit, he laughed and said if he pops it first, Fury has to wear that to his funeral, followed by something like ‘you big daft ****!’
Truth is, nobody knows. It’s Fury’s business.
Yeah, I think before Hatton there were about 6000 or so fans out in Vegas for Bruno's second fight against Tyson which was impressive in itself. Hatton took things to new heights though in terms of numbers who were prepared to travel to watch him fight. He was also smashing attendance records (well in the modern era at least) at sports stadia over here. 58,000 at our stadium for the Lazcano fight. Just as a comparison, there were 42,000 at Benn v Eubank 2 at Old Trafford, 26,000 at Cardiff Arms Park for Lewis v Bruno, 40,000+ at Wembley for Bruno v Witherspoon, and 23,000 at Wembley when Bruno finally won a world title against Oliver McCall. When you actually take a few seconds to think about it, taking 30k fans out to Vegas to watch him is an absolutely staggering number. The strip must have been drunk dry that weekend. How many would Fury take; half that figure (which wouldn't be at all shabby)?
Was the service broadcast pal?Extremely emotional. How his kids managed those speeches I'll never know.
