Rico Lewis | Set to sign a new 5-year contract (pg33)

Intelligent going forward and in the build up - had a really good game in that respect yesterday

There is no player in the team who isn't more vulnerable against those sides. It is a nonsense, IMO, to single-out individuals in this way.
By that logic might as well play EDS side since the likes of say Mbappe can potentially go past anyone. The difference is, someone like Stones, Gvardiol (in his position) or a few others will win the majority of duels even against world class oposition. Rico will not. I agree with @richards30 here.

Surely nobody will take a decision about Rico depending on 1 single match vs Wolves .. ;)

He didn't even play RB yesterday, we were able to use his control for our build-up and he did really well. On top that tidy assist, just perfect.

There will be several opportunities vs opponents where we can afford this, but as others said vs top wingers he'll have a problem.

Don't think we want him out. He isn't a squad spot issue for us at all.
If he wants to leave for whatever reason, he will.

I could live with both solutions.

"when I'm playing with the kind of players I'm playing with, "

Brings out the best of everyone to play with world-class players, but we need difference makers. Happy with him as a squad option, not as a first choice right back. As long as he is happy with that role it's all fine.

If his job were only to win duals, then naturally the more physical players will do that.
He offers something different, a skillset that allows us to utterly dominate the ball, which, by definition, indirectly reduces the number of duals the whole side faces. You may or may not want that in a right back.

I think, and hope, that Pep would not have selected him if there was any intention to sell.

Not everyone is an obvious headline making difference maker. Some just make a difference by having unique set of skills that suit a certain manager and how a team plays. Think in Lewis we have that, he won’t play every week as we have very different options as well at RB for different teams. He’ll play enough though.

Bottom line it’s up to Lewis if he is happy to be a squad player? We know pep likes him and probably wants to keep him! How does Lewis know if he goes to Forest and end up playing similar amount of games as with us?

It's a fair point. Aina is tougher competition for the right back slot than he has here.

If he wants to stay and is happy as a squad player that's fine. It means we need to move on Nunes and bring in a proper right back.
