Right back options……

And can we try to avoid the tired "So you know better than Pep?" rhetoric?
why is it tired? its bl**dy true. let me see, take the views of a randomer off the street on what does and doesnt work in football. or the views of the greatest football manager that's ever lived? easy choice.

What are Walkers weakness and strengths, as we do have to look at how it effects the team overall.
Weakness first touch, passing and awareness. Nearly any player we buy will be better and improve the team.
Strengths, pace, power, heading and stamina, there are very few to match him on these, so any lower others in the squad will have to take up.
Five names which is the best?
Hakimi needs no introduction.
Gusto, classy little number.
Frimpong ex academy.
Porro, we know can do the job.
Simakan, bit like Akanji, but a better footballer.
Hakimi needs no introduction. - currently dividing opinion due to alleged allegations against him.
Gusto, classy little number - agreed.
Frimpong ex academy.
Porro, we know can do the job - I get the impression he is a little bitter towards us because we didn’t bring him to City when we first signed him only loaning him. Otherwise has been excellent for Spurs.
Simakan, bit like Akanji, but a better footballer. - I like simakan, definitely powerful and has legs on him to get up and down the channel. He has left RB Leipzig now in summer and is playing in Saudi so may be on very high wages.

So you tell me, not me, not Pep, not some randomer...you. Is this 3-1-6 with Rico basically hanging around the opponent's 18 yard box while our aging, slow midfield gets killed on the counter leaving our backline scrambling for cover working? Maybe, MAYBE with Rodri it may have worked. But at what expense? Pep was already burning Rodri out. From my honest perspective what happened to Rodri was not down solely to bad luck but to extended overuse in a system extremely taxing on him. Anyone with a set of eyes and a modicum of football knowledge can see that this current plan without Rodri and with this cast of players will win us nothing. Pep needs to make changes, simple as. He's always done it so I'm expecting him to do so again. But please don't try telling me this current set up is not failing, badly...

Could probably add Geertruida, Vanderson and Livramento to that list. Hard to find a perfect replacement. Gusto is probably the closest thing to Walker at RB, I think.

Simakan is on €235k/wk per capology in Saudi not counting add-ons.

Other options could be a CB that can play as a defensive RB.

Geertruida thumbs up from me.
Vanderson - heard the name but not a player I am familiar with.
Livramento - dury out with me. Still with good potential. Had a couple of injuries already for a young age.
Simakan - salary wow! Is actually classed as a CB but used quite frequently previously by Leipzig as an attacking RB.

Anyway probably put my opinions on this thread too much over the last 2 pages. Over to others now, don’t want to sound like a broken record.

Na fella. Keep the opinions coming. That's what the transfer threads are for. Have you watched Cambiaso at Juve? Super versatile. Can play on either side as a back, wing back, and even as a winger in a pinch. A bit of a late bloomer, currently 24. I've seen him also play in inverted roles. Technically sound with good pace and decent size, 5'11''. Spalletti has been playing him regularly in the Italian National side.

Yes, I am aware this Cambiaso model has been making waves and still relatively unknown. A very good player, I think he is left footed and the Italians tend to know a thing or two about defending too. I would support him being signed as a LB. Just the club don’t seem to be linked with LB’s.

If the Ake news is true that might change swiftly!
