Could be a quick fix to the defence and help secure top 4 this season. Walks into out starting 11 easily at the moment. Would also make a very good RB backup if we end up signing another RB or CB/RB hybrid in the summer. This season has showed that 6 senior defenders is not enough for 4 positions. Will need 2 RBs long-term and Rico will probably end up in midfield

Anyway it won't happen Aino is signing a new extension.

Personally quite like him. Very solid defender.

Yup.

People need to realize the defense will be a big overhaul, almost the size of Peps first overhaul after his first year here.

And if wr pay for a quality defender (60m), we probably want to offset with cheaper deals like Aina who can still play 4 or 5 years at the top level.

Akanji is the sort of cheap signing I loved we made. We paid Dortmund so little and he became such a strong RB for us.
