I wasn’t being entirely serious, but technically he is an option.

We tried the Cancelo approach and it didn’t work. Trent is even less of a defender.

He’d be a better and cheaper option than Frimpong though.

As you suggest, it’s never happening as he wouldn’t move here and we wouldn’t want him!
 
The last player to leave liverpool for city got non-stop media harassment for like 2 years, so Trent just wouldn't do it not when a nice easy controversy free move to Madrid is there . It's funny because when Milner did the reverse he pretty much was celebrated as a hero by media.

Cancelo didn’t (and what’s good about it?), but anyone who’s gonna cause trouble either in the dressing room or off the pitch we should give a swerve.
Let’s put it this way Mason Greenwood looked pretty good for a rag even with my blue tinted specs on, but with his actions off the pitch, I wouldn’t give him the steam off my piss.
Same would have been true for Benzema and Ribery back in the day, not bothered if you're a brilliant footballer anyone connected with sex crimes or violent assaults I dont want playing for the club.
Its bad enough with Kyle not being able to keep his dick in his pants, but at least its consenting adults.

Just mentioning TAA gives me Tourette’s syndrome!

On the plus side we could take him on free, sit him on the bench for a year to boil some piss and then loan him for a season to Everton before selling him for a £10m profit to a Saudi league side.

Is van der Ven over rated? Yes, he's rapid but I have noticed he has made quite a few errors. Too soon to rate him for me.
