Right back options

Livramento from Newcastle would be a good RB signing.
Already knows the league and doing pretty well here at a decent club.

Given how many games we play and how many injuries we get we should sign both him and Cambiasso, who can play on the right or left.

If possible, I’d bring Couto in for the last year of his contract. I know he’s had injuries in Dortmund and there are questions over physicality, but he’s a natural right-back, technically very good, and has already played with Savinho. He’d also save us money for elsewhere.

For me, we need to shift from the mentality of having a team of single players that can all get 3,500-4,000 minutes and have a squad of players that give us the best chance of winning against all kinds of opponents yet still arriving fresh enough in spring to beat Europe’s best.

How many players off Newcastle would we like to sign ?

Livramento (who isn't a regular for them)
Joe Linton
Tonali
Bruno G
Gordon
Isak

All wanted by numerous posters .
More than half their team . Yet they are 7th in the league !!

Our standards are on the floor .

I'm fairly sure Couto has left

For me it would only be Livramento as he plays in a position we desperately need to improve.

The rest, no. Obviously Isak is good but we’ve got Haaland.
Don’t need Bruno anymore since buying Gonzalez.
Gordon, no better than what we have already.
Tonali, no idea really, can probably find better.
Joelinton not good enough.

Vanderson And Hato. Play them either side of Khusanov and Gvardiol and suddenly Real Madrid’s dynamic attack is no longer quite as threatening. Still have Dias, Akanji, and Reis to rotate.

Cambiaso i get. Frimpong i dont rate as a RB, if we had a bigger need at RW maybe
I see Cambiaso more of a LB than RB. People say he’s both-footed, but he almost exclusively uses his left foot. I would prefer someone quicker, more physical and defensively solid. Cambiaso is more of a Cancelo. Great creator, can play inverted or wide, but his defending is quite poor. With Gvardiol already playing as an offensive full-back I would prefer a RB that can defend.

I’m still a huge fan of Livramento who’s brilliant both defensively and going forward, 22 and HG. El Hilali from Espanyol would be a brilliant signing with a €15m release clause. One of the best defensive U21 right backs in the world and is a contender for La Liga TOTS. Probably one of the closest like-for-like Walker replacements. Singo is more in the mould of Akanji as a CB/RB hybrid, but is quicker, way stronger and dominant in the air. Either of those 3 would be my preferred RB

If true that Stones may be off and links to both Cambiaso and Frimpong we could be looking at

Cambiaso - Gvardiol - Dias - Frimpong

Ake - Reis - Khusanov - Akanji & Lewis

gonna be an interesting pick, reports out of italy we weren't even close on Cambiaso either now. Wonder if we pursue that or bail.. so many names, no serious links and a lot of work to do. Bring on the summer.
