Right back options

We definitely don't want porro
Viana wanted Porro when at Sporting and the player has subsequently developed into Spain’s right back. If Maresca therefore wants someone who knows the League and upon whom he can immediately rotate with Nunes, then Porro makes sense, regardless of the protestations on here.

If they instead want a project player, then Palestra appears to have the power and physicality that will help him settle, but not immediately. Read, talented as he is on the ball, is much weaker physically and simply hasn’t played enough football yet.

Another alternative, of course, is to trust Reis. People will rightly point out that he isn’t a full back, but then again, neither is the man for whom he’d have to deputise. Because we have the assurance of Reis reportedly returning, I think the right back spot could be the last piece of business we conclude.

I worry about Reads injury record but clearly a great talent.

Talk of Kayode seems to have stopped bearing in mind we heavily scouted him this season.
Just thinking that its a bit disappointing that Kayode links have died down, hes got a lot of likeable attributes

Sounds like their Dippers are going to be after a RB as well as they've been pinked to the 3 you mentioned as well

Interesting to see who goes where

He was very poor when we played them. Reminds me of a young Onuaha, more a beast/athlete than a footballer. His control doesnt look to be at our normal level when i was watching him warm up too.(small sample set i know). I think we can do way better.

Reis will be in the squad next season

Actually thought this would have been our fastest move?
Why? I think its the one I'd rather wait on Maresca's opinion on. Anderson bis just a fantastic player. Every manager will take him. Same with Diomande.

You ront need to check with those types of players. A rotational fullback and a cup keeper are the types of positions you want the specific opinions of the manager on.

Hence why I rate the Gusto interest. even though its just a guess. Its the type of player who wont surprise me Maresca wants.

I'm pretty sure Hugo has already talked to Maresca regarding this

I dont think we can go wrong with Read or Palestra, both high potential and young with the chance to push for Nunes spot as the starter.

Having seen a bit more of both, physically, Palestra looks better suited to the Premier League.

I am enamored by his 2 footedness. I feel like qw sre accumulating lots of those type playwes and I like it. Cherki, Guehi, Semenyo, and Gvardiol are all fantastically 2 footed and would be glad to add Palestra to that list.

Monitored since December!

Read was out with an injured hamstring from November, played 90 minutes against Heerenveen in January and went down in injury time with another hamstring injury. He was then out from then until the end of April.

Never mind a close eye, we could monitor with our eyes closed.
They were monitoring whilst injured to see if he would fit well into the treatment room
