Right decision to take robinho off?

Best attacker!!!!!!!!!! I don't recall one decent forward pass , a cross, a shot or anything. He started ok in the first half and then disappeared after the Ballack incident.

Name someone who was better going forward for us today? Not saying I thought Elano was "class" today, but he was certainly better than Robinho, Caicedo, SWP or Ireland going forward.

I personally think it was. Good to see the Boj come back, i no people say robinho could always work some magic but he didnt look like he was going to today did he?

Definitely was the right decision, unfortunately it was made too late.

The change should have been made 20 minutes earlier at least. Robinho was shocking today.

I agree I can't name anybody going forward who was any good but that does not make Elano any good either. So when the attacking part isn't any good I look for some kind of control of the game , some intelligence in defensive play or at least some energy. Elano gave none of those 3 whereas Ireland and SWP at least did in 2 of them.

If you guys have time to look in to the past stats, everytime Hughes subbed Robinho out, we lost.

30-40% of the times, we conceded another goal at 1-5 minutes right just after Robinho was out.

That says something.

What does it say exactly?

If you suggesting hughes has replaced Robbie when he has looked even vaguely like getting us something you are having a laugh. And you surely can't be suggesting that keeping him on would stop us conceeding.

The only bad thing about the decision was that it took so long, we're nowhere near good enough to get anything against Chelsea with 10 men on the pitch.

I am a big fan of MH but really thinks he needs to grow some nuts and with Robbie and pull him off when he sees that he is having a game like today. IMO he should have come off at half time today as with most away games this season. Chelsea spend the 1st half attacking down our left because Robbie didn't want to know.

good call reidy

You look at the quality of the bench though:

Garrido, Evans, Etuhu, Fernandes, Bojinov, Berti

...It doesn't really insipre a lot of confidence. Not one of them is what you could call a game-breaker.

Berti is! :)

At the end of the day chelsea are one of the best teams in the prem that have just hit thier top form and we were playing them at the bridge. 1-0 wasn't the worst result that could have happened with our past away form.

Robinho should have been taken off earlier, even when he wasn't isolated, his passing was poor and i totally agree he didn't look up for it. Elano did play ok, but that yellow card was stupid and you can understand why hughes would take him off, as it would have been harder with ten men and elano isn't the best tackler. On a brighter note Nedum handled drogba well i thought and dunne ok aswell.

I think we should have set up how we did against Villa.
