Right To Roam.

Should there be access for people to walk wherever they wish or should it be restricted to existing designated footpaths, with perhaps the introduction of additional public footpaths?

Like in Scotland? Yes. Landowning rich fucks deny us access because they want the feudal system to continue.

Surely you're not being serious are you?

So, presuming you have a garden, you'd find quite acceptable for all manner of people to simply wander through it at will. Go where they wish and stay for as long as they want.

If it covered a few acres in Scotland, I wouldn't give a shit. In my garden here in Salford, though....not the same.

If you fail to read the do not enter signs to my property and manage to get over the fairly large surrounding walls then I fear your days of roaming will come to a pretty sudden end. :-)

Scotland has a hugely lower population density than England. It’s got lots of wild places where hardly any people live. The Scots model would never work in the overcrowded parts of England.

A right to roam wouldn't include gardens and areas where there is infrastructure and buildings. There would be common sense restrictions. But it would be very good for the majority of the English public.
