Rio Ferdinand

Rio was a top class centre half but people making him out to be Maldini are way wide of the mark. If he was playing today he wouldn't be the best centre back in the PL - Van Dijk is certainly better and I can think of another one at least who I'd rather have in my side than Rio.

John Terry was a better player. Of all the opposing players I've seen live at the Emirates - 3 always stood out as being the best I'd ever seen. Terry was one, Messi another and Aguero the third.

John Terry was very good with the ball, good passing range. If we're in an era where defenders are meant to be good with the ball, then he would be able to cut it today. Camel gob, not so much

I am so pleased about this. He really was a poor pundit. He lacked knowledge, intelligence, wit, foresight. He added absolutely nothing to the game. Often he would ask other pundits their opinions (particularly on attacking play) because he had no clue. So, WHAT WAS THE POINT HIM BEING THERE???

Added to this he is morally bankrupt for the reasons others on this thread have stated. On top of all that he is a rag and the fewer of them in the footballing media the better (same for the dippers!)

Ferdinand was another 'physical player's that would've spent half his league career suspended if he wasn't a rag in the England squad.

Also he can't speak properly. Surely it's paramount to speak well? I don't like to criticise speech impediments or local accents. I might be old fashioned. But I think received pronunciation or at least eloquent speech is preferable.

On Luis Enrique late-daughter Xana...

Luis Enriqueis a remarkable human being.(Unlike myself)

I have been in a position where you've had loss and it is difficult to know how you're going to react. - like a twat probably? ... No , definitely

He has continued and gone from strength to strength.

Ferdinand is claiming that it is his choice to’step away’ from TNT, but I am not sure about that. Why would anyone step away from a well paid jolly watching football matches. I suspect the truth of this is that he is a crap pundit, whose only credibility comes from a his connection to an increasingly irrelevant club who don’t play European football anymore. TNT won’t have much domestic football to broadcast next year, so Europe will be their focus and they want competent pundits with something to say about the multiple English clubs actually in those competitions.
