I have spent much of today listenng to the radio/watchng TV/reading news reports etc etc and it appears that as each hour passes the commentators in our media become more and more rabidly right wing in there assesment of what has happened and what should be done. Its a sad state of affairs when intelligent people are trying to outdo each other in stating there disgust and condemnation of events. Hardly anyone has attempted to explain any reasons behind whats occuring, its just an endless diatribe about thugs and mindless violence.

What i personally find scary is that this country is lurching to the far right and that people appear comfortable with there liberties being eroded.

They way they are constantly looping the same burning building feels like they're pushing for more of it, whilst condemning police actions when in reality, there is little they could have done with the numbers available at the time.

No. There is a country that needs running.

But that aside, why not take a holiday in Cornwall or Scotland?

In economic terms, one of the biggest problems we have in this country is that the workers save all their money only to blitz it on a two week bender on some shitty Spanish island. That's why we have to pay through the nose to get a basic standard of life. Otherwise, the money would just drift abroad.

Disagree. If you are idiotic enough to spend your money on a holiday in Newquay simply because the PM does then you do that. I'll go away where I want and that should be everyones right. I would never begrudge any MP a holiday where they want, be they left, right or facist.

We also have a net income (rather than expenditure) from tourism rather than what you have said which shows that your post is without foundation.

If you don't like the PM then fine, there are plenty of legitimate ways to have a go at him. But all 3 leaders of the main parties were away. And rightly so, they work fucking hard for fucking long hours and I wouldn't want a ruling class unable to take a break for fear of jealously and bile from the voters.
