Yet there aren't that many of us that felt compelled to go out and steal stuff, set fire to premises, have a pop at the police and generally terrorise the peaceful majority.

Why wasn't that van there all day, with another at the other end of Market Street, and more in Piccadilly Gardens, St Anne's Square and Deansgate?
They have plenty of vans, officers and resources on a fucking match day to provide a 'visible deterrent' to potential troublemakers, so why not today, when anyone could see what was coming?
Or do they really consider the average match-going football fan to be more of a threat than the feral criminal underclass?
