RIP Alan Rickman

Just watched Sense and Sensibility. I know he's getting a lot of credit on here for Die Hard but he was also the finest of romantic leads.
Blue or not, amazing talent.
 
I was upset about this. He played roles like he was the cat who got the cream but wasn't satisfied with the cream. Stupendous actor with a sumptuous voice and a face that spoke volumes. RIP Alan.

The line is nothing special, the delivery was magnificent.
 
Saw an interesting quote from Billy Bragg earlier - Alan Rickman - and Bowie for that matter - were working class council estate lads from working class backgrounds - Rickman got to RADA and Bowie to a technical college all in the days before fees - they went through a period of free education and grants. I have kids going through F.E. and despite what you are told its a financial strain on everybody and they will come out of it with me in debt and they in massive debt - more than I saw at their age - and Billy Braggs point was will the next Bowie or Rickman be denied success and denied to us all - put off by the financial strain? I just wonder and the irony is we will never know.
