Brilliant. Never seen that video before. Warched Blondie at The Free Trade Hall in the late '70's. Great night and felt like a real rebel stood on the seats.

I liked most of their hits but never got to see Blondie live. Been listening to and watching a lot of Blondie recently and Clem Burke was very underrated, I'd say he wouldn't be out of place in the top 20 drummers of all time. I think his best drumming is on Dreaming, he makes that track their best track imo.

Was never into Blondie, great early tunes but not punk enough for me and when the disco fused Heart Of Glass and even worse The Tide Is High hit the charts I knew I was on the right road.
However, this song I loved - and still do. A killer bass line Peter Hook would have loved to have written, and behind that Clem keeping it all together in time on the sticks.
I saw Blondie for the first time 3 years ago at a festival in LA (like you do) though it was only Debbie and Clem as original members. Glen Matlock was filling in for Chris Stein who was ill. Actually, I saw them twice as it was the same line up both days.

Except it was one if their best imo. Subjective I know.
People do like to confuse popularity with "slide" "selling out" etc. Probably right when it comes to today's shit - but when talent populated the scene, popularity meant it was probably good.
Anyway, all about opinions, but something we can all agree on ...... one of the legendary drummers.

Wherever he’s going, I hope they have the drum kit already set up for him, because there’s going to be a big party when he gets there!

RIP Clem, my favorite drummer of all time, who always reminded me of Animal from The Muppets!

Much better than the poseurs and tossers on Top of the Pops.

Spoke to him a few years back when he was playing drums for the official Blondie tribute band called Bootleg Blondie, who are excellent by the way.
