Got grounded for it but at least got to see him play in the flesh

He was my first City hero. I remember when I scored a goal in a school kickabout holding my arm upright in the Dennis manner.
(And then getting thumped by United fans). Really upset when he went to Italy. So sad, but probably a blessing given his poor health.

I believe, although I can't remember who told me now as it was a very long time ago, that Denis used to drive all his kids to school whilst he was dressed in his pyjamas because the house was mad and full of kids and he had no time to get dressed.

When we sold him to Torino, I’ve heard that City received a washing machine and drier as part of the transfer.

A proper Manchester legend, like Brian Kidd, loved by both sides. Not many we can say that about.

Law gave me one of my great football moments: I was at OT the day he back heeled his previous club into Division 2 (not technically but..).

Denis graced both City and United and always showed great class after he retired.

A truly great player.

Only Buzzer left of the big six players of my youth.

RIP Denis.
