RIP Donald Farrar

A few of us got off the train in Wilmslow on the way back from pre season friendly at Crewe or Chester (can't remember which). Donald has been doing his usual cadging off all the fingies he could find, and in one of the posh Wilmslow pubs he was sat at the bar drinking a cocktail and eating olives... Not so daft then...
84/85 pre-season,
Crewe on the Saturday, Chester on the Sunday (went to both) - would have been Crewe as Chester train wouldn't have gone through Wilmslow.

I first met him in the underground market in town at Donald Francis arcade facing the escalator on the way in .
Straight away he introduced me and my little mob of waggin it mates by way of gimme ten p to which we all declined then he’s on me like a shadow whilst I’m on the space invader he wouldn’t stop tapping in the end one of my mates gave him ten p
So then he’s on me again I wasn’t budging it was a principle in front of the lads for me standing my ground the arndale and all over town was full of tax men in them days but I’m not tarring him with the same brush it was only because I’d only just met him
Rest easy r kid you wer truly unique and went everywhere with city you wer a true jibber on a daily basis kippax in the sky for you now BLESS.
