Think it’s an horrible disease and it can tear you apart . My mum was always frightened about getting dementia saying that she would hate not to remember anything . Still feel bitter towards the hospital as we took care of her during covid and she ended up catching it in hospital and it took her from me .Condolences Oakie. It's not any real comfort for you at the moment, but thank God she had no apparent pain or (presumably) suffering in her last few days. Dementia is cruel (my mother had it in her last couple of years), but she's been released now, and can meet up with friends and loved ones in the hereafter. I wish you every good wish for what you have to go through in the next few days.
