RIP Mum (Mrs Oakiecokie aged 96)

Condolences Oakie. It's not any real comfort for you at the moment, but thank God she had no apparent pain or (presumably) suffering in her last few days. Dementia is cruel (my mother had it in her last couple of years), but she's been released now, and can meet up with friends and loved ones in the hereafter. I wish you every good wish for what you have to go through in the next few days.
Think it’s an horrible disease and it can tear you apart . My mum was always frightened about getting dementia saying that she would hate not to remember anything . Still feel bitter towards the hospital as we took care of her during covid and she ended up catching it in hospital and it took her from me .

Our dear Mum (aged 96) passed away this morning after 5 nights in hospital and we were amazed that she lasted this long as we had been informed that it would just be a matter of hours initially.
She had been in a Nursing Home for 9 months having Dementia but her latest setback was no oxygen was circulating into her blood system and even at the maximum dosage the medication wasn`t working.
At least she didn`t suffer any pain and was on high doses of morphine to stop her getting agitated.
She was a star alright and very often she reminded us of Nana from The Royle Family.
RIP Mum and catch up with Dad at long last.
xx

Condolences to you and your family at this sad time. I hope you find some comfort in the fact she is now reunited with your dad and is at peace. Best wishes.

Good to hear she had a peaceful passing.
Such changes she must have seen in her lifetime.
Thinking of you and yours after the passing of a lady who must have been so central and important to your family xx
