I remember watching a new report on him suffering from dementia(?)

They caught a fantastic moment where a pianist played one of his songs and he had a moment of clarity singing along.



One of my favourite duets in his later years.

Immortaliz(s?)ed my town. The SF Giants baseball club still play "I Left My Heart" on the loudspeakers after every home game -- kind of our "Blue Moon". Fascinating man too if you read about him -- early on the civil rights bandwagon, lots of issues with drugs before redemption. An iconic voice, second of the era only to (just my opinion) Sinatra. RIP.

One of the two greats, the other being Sinatra. In some ways, his phrasing was more interesting than Sinatra's.
It was really touching to see that Indian summer with Lady Gaga.
