Riyad Mahrez extends his contract until 2025

Brilliant news

Top top top player, you could argue very underrated as he's a top 10 winger in world football, arguably top 5 and yet doesn't get talked about enough

Means he stays untill he's 34, but given that he is never injured he will probably still be in his prime around that age as he isn't reliant on pace

Locks down the right wing position for the next 3 years, hopefully Palmer can learn from him and start phasing him out by the time Mahrez leaves

This is great news. He was already a brilliant winger when he joined us playing for a counter attacking Leicester team that won the league. He joined a team that in contrast doninated the ball. When he first arrived he was taking too many touches and a little predictable. He'd cut in and his shots and passes were often intercepted. Mahrez has learned how to play against massed defences, when hold the ball, when to release. He's a joy to watch and very effective indeed.

Witnessing his excellent close control especially of a long switch passes is really pleasure too.

You are right, he is a pizza maker and has never played football. How he ended up in our team is beyond belief ! Perhaps he is Pep’s close relative.
