He's a professional footballer. He didn't come through our academy. He backed himself to make the jump and he clearly didn't make enough of an impression. A loan move to Celtic worked out well for Him, like you said it allowed him to shine. It was always an 18 month deal, so your wrong about that. When he came back after his 18 month deal at Celtic he had a choice: continue his progression with a clear path to our team or go back to Scotland. If he doesn't make it here then I'm sorry but the club are not to blame.Right... bit harsh this, I’m related to Roberts on my dear ol mums side & I can tell you now he was ovre the moon signing for City from Fulham even though they’re all red dippers on that side of the family. He wanted to stay at Fulham & learn his trade but City filled his head with him being with the first team & playing a part. He was promised he’d not be loaned out but was shipped out straight away. He was upset as that’s not what he was told would happen, the next season again promised the world to be sent packing again. What’s the lad meant to do? Decide to stay at a club he was appreciated, liked by fans & treated as he expected or go to a PL club & sit on a bench? He did what was right for him. Don’t get me wrong I love city with a passion, have done all my life but they have shit on Patrick.

With Joorabchian involved I wouldn't be surprised if this deal never happens.I dont see Mahrez anywhere else next season other than in sky blue. I do not believe for one moment his head would be turned, but I was responding to a poster who is becoming anxious because he has not yet signed and we may get gazumped at the 11th hr. If we are as far down the contract road as many on here seem to purport we are, I dont see it happening and if he did, his loss.
He's busy playing football, maybe leave the flapping for a few weeks.I could understand these dances if we'd just come out of nowhwere for a player - but most of the players that have fallen through (some thankfully), we've been pursuing and wooing for 2 or 3 windows. Must be a nightmare negotiating with the duplicitous, greedy agents and susceptible players. Ah, just saw that cnut Joorbichian is involved - another one becomes less likely. Post flapping stage now.

After all this waltzing around I expect the Rags to move in.
No, they've just signed a child-sized midfielder and an unknown Porto defender with about 7 first-team appearances. Hopefully both will turn out to be utterly shit.
