Mahrez is different class to Sterling and Sterling isn't worthy to clean his boots.

Take a look at some highlights of his skill, look at his goals. Look at his assists, then try and find a real comparison to Mahrez as Sterling clearly isn't one.

He would i believe play every game and not be a bit part player for you, he is THAT good.

Agree with most on here though that this is getting a bit tedious now so hope it get's sorted one way or the other soon.

I hear you. One question though, have we ever valued Mahrez properly or do we take it for granted he is worth 55-60 million?

In the current market, by all means no. Thanks to Neymar, Coutinho and VvD. You also can add Sanchez to the mess.

He's worth much more than that and had he been brazilian and/or playing for one club of the top 6, he would easily be £85-90M worth, at the very least, and no one would bat an eyelid. People are getting worked up by the fact that we bought him for two snickers and he suffers greatly from lack of exposure (aside from 2015/16 obviously), but 70-75M is actually a fair price for his quality. I doubt that Pep is insisting that much on getting him just to put him on the bench. He clearly has a plan for him and where he would fit.

The rags have Mourinho and he's apparently not his type of player but I wouldn't be surprised to see them bid for him, especially if Martial goes. There are also pretty good chances that Chelsea will enter the dance, as soon as they sort out their manager problem. The only team of the top 6 where he wouldn't fit at the moment is Liverpool, because Salah. The rest is certainly on stand-by, waiting to see how the situation will pan-out.

Most of us are convinced that we won't see him play for our club next season. Some of us think that we should maintain a tough stance but I'm not sure that it would do any good for any party. This saga has gone long enough and it could really turn ugly. No point in keeping a player who clearly wants to go.

I personally think that we'll sell him to you for something around £70M. Which is, I insist, a fair price.

I agree. Sterling shines for City because of the players around him, he’s shit for England just like most of them are because they’ve not got the foreigners around them.

You don't pay those players 100K/week. The going rate is three times that. That's why he won't go for much over 60M, unless the rags are involved.

Personally, I think Barnardo is far more gifted and will prove as much well before he reaches the same age. I'm not sure just how unpopular an opinion that is but, either way, he's similar enough to Mahrez in terms of which systems will benefit their playstyles most. In my mind, we could do with an equivalent of a Bernardo/ Mahrez on the left hand side more for the sake of versatility than symmetry.

I always saw Bernardo as a natural successor to David Silva but I didn't follow your team enough, so maybe I'm wrong. I like him a lot and have no doubt about his abilities. He's certainly going to improve in the next years as the first season is always tough.

I still see no conflict in havind him AND Mahrez in one team. Both are talented and versatile enough to adapt to whatever Guardiola wants for them. You can only benefit from it, especially if you want to compete an all fronts.

By the end of the second sentence, you lost all credibility.

Let me put it like this: 60M is a fucking joke by current market prices. Don't blame us but the crazy market. It's not about us trying to mug you. Two seasons ago, I'd have fully agreed with you and if we got 50M for him, we'd have sold him without a second thought.

Mahrez is currently on ca. +100K/week and I'm certain that he won't have any crazy demand since absolutely wants to go and join you.

I agree with your first sentence, and that is because they are totally different players, completely different roles and skill sets..

The second sentence is because you've been brainwashed by the media about his england form, his City form is all we care about, and we've seen it every week, you probably only on highlights packages and the like.

Sorry pal, you seem like a decent poster so I wont go overboard with this reply, but sterling is brilliant for us and underrated by fans of other clubs cause it doesn't work out for him for england. Sterling always makes something happen. Mahrez is probably a better player, but to describe sterling as not fit to lace his boots is borderline offensive
