It was bloody tough but inspirational too. A life cruelly cut short, but what a life. He didn’t stop smiling throughout his illness. Please god through his efforts and those of Doddie Weir and everyone that has raised so much money, medical science gets a handle on this horrible condition.
 
What a remarkable man, a true fighter on and off the field. His wife and family incredible too and my thoughts are with them. To go out yesterday and break ground and do all the publicity around the MND centre in Leeds is a staggering display of their collective strength and a true tribute to the man he was.

These two have carried Doddie Weir's work to a far higher profile.

I hope that the King's Birthday Honours this month might give Sinfield his due, and it's hard to think of a better image for rugby league's first knighthood for players.

With regard to a knighthood for Sinfield, it used to be the case that there was a minimum amount of time needed before someone could receive another award (possibly 3 years). With him receiving his OBE in 2021 & his CBE in 2024, its likely it'll be 2027 before he would be considered for a knighthood.

The easiest option would be to make Lindsey Burrow a Dame IMHO. She’s as important to this as Rob and Kevin in her way. It’s all about friendship, love, bravery and self-sacrifice.

Inspirational indeed. What a man. Steph and Stephen Darby sadly going through this with the same ending sadly.

Then it should have special exemptions. This is a deserving case as there ever was. Rob should receive a posthumous Knighthood too.
