Robbie vs Bellers

Given
Zaba Toure Kompany Lescott
De Jong Barry
Tevez Robbie Bellamy
Ade

With a bench including the likes of swp ireland johno rsc nedum micah petrov weiss etc we had a great future ahead :)

Whichever way you look at it,,,,,,,,,that looks fantastic

It's not Robi v Bellamy, it's City v the rest.

It's great having great players to choose from, and you can have endless discussions about starting 11s, but to go one step further and start slagging players can't be right

What has Robinho done but get injured, and play well enough to get linked to Barcalona?

Are we going to do what Arsenal fans did to Adebayor?

Press are running some innocuous stories in advance of the transfer window, and there seems to be an assumption that he's on his way.

Some good posts here guys, and after taking them all into consideration, there is one thing nobody has mentioned and it will probably become a problem at some point in the season.

So, what happens when Robbie has a dip in form, and when we are away from home against the likes of Bolton?

He will hide, whereas Bellers will get everyone going and drive the team on, inspire them by putting a hard working shift and some quality.

Thats where Robi will hide, what d'ya think though blues?

You mean like how Bellamy got everyone going and drove the team on in our fantastic away performances at Stoke and Portsmouth last season where Robinho was also poor? Robbie never hides, he's always looking for the ball and trying to make things happen

A few of the posts here say something like, "what has Robbie done to deserve our abuse" and the fact is, I never slated Robbie in the OP, I was very Pro Robbie in fact.

I agree that your op was pro Robbie, maybe some people have become a bit sensetive with all the abuse Robbie has received lately.

The way i see it is at the moment Bellamy and Bridge have struck up a good partnership on that side, what was last year seen by most teams as our achilles heel is now our strongest side with both pace and fitness.
In my opinion Robbie would be more effective in the role between midfield and striker (in the hole) where he can find space and deliver the killer ball, he's at his most dangerous in space which he struggles to find when out wide.
I know at the moment Tevez plays this role but i can honestly see Robbie being effective in it aswell...........the form player gets the nod.

Other option is drop SWP and put Tevez on the right:

i'm sure that to enable us to be successfull, we will need to utilise the squad, not just by facing off bellers against robbie or sweep against carlos. Hopefully with hughsey's feet on the ground approach to management, the lads will be chomping at the bit to play, while also understanding that THEIR time will come. roque is a true example of this and i'm certain there are more like him. we have to remember we have top players at our club now, who understand what it takes to be challenging on multiple fronts, and what it takes to be a successfull team.
